ABOUT DRAGON DAY

Dragon Day is a parade dating back over 100 years, celebrated immediately before spring break. It is entirely student-organized by first-year architecture students, raising their own funds through selling commemorative t-shirts and donations. Each year, the first years advertise, fundraise, and collaborate to design a dragon that represents their class. Over six weeks of preparation goes into the event, and the construction of the dragon itself happens within the span of one week. The parade is a memorable event in the Cornell timeline, and it is often eagerly awaited by students, faculty, and alumni.
